Creating and Sharing a MeSA Report

A MeSA Report provides powerful and potentially life-changing information about a patient/resident. Learn how to run and share a MeSA Report.

Review the Patient/Resident Medications and Observations

It's important to make sure the patient/resident demographic, medication, and observation information in already entered. Also make sure the external users pertinent to the patient/resident are entered, because the MeSA Report will be securely shared with those external users through MeSA.

  1. Click on the "Patients/Residents" tab.
  2. Select a patient/resident. If you do not see your patient/resident, be sure you have selected the correct location.
  • Click on the "Medications" tab to see a list of the patient/resident's entered medications. Click on the "New Entry" button to add a new medication if needed.
  • Click on the "Observations" tab to see a list of the patient/resident's recorded observations. Click on the "New Entry" button to add a new observation if needed.

Run a MeSA Report

  1. Navigate to the MeSA Report page. There are two ways to do this:
    • The easiest way

    • Clicking the "Generate Now" button will create a report using the existing patient/resident data.
    • Clicking the "Scenario" button will create a report using temporary data for a theoretical situation. See the Creating and Sharing a MeSA Scenario help topic for more information.
  3. Click the "Generate Now" button. The system will automatically complete steps two through four based on the existing patient/resident data. This process can take up to 20 seconds to complete, because the report is calculated using a complicated algorithm. At rare times the algorythm may take longer basued upon back-end updates to the calculating MeSA serves. You may leave the tab open and work with other browser tabs during this process if needed.
  4. Once the report is complete, step five shows the results of the report.

Understanding the MeSA Report

  • The table shows the correlation between the patient/resident's medications and observed behaviors.
